The maternal grandmother of #AndyMallinsonActor was the late performer Molly Lilian COLLEDGE.

Born Molly Lilian FRANCIS on 2nd April 1917 in Sutton in Ashfield in Nottinghamshire, from a young age Molly was a confident performer, giving evenings of one act plays locally in ​in her home town of Chesterfield, England, UK.
​
Molly's main passion was dancing. Her father (Rowland Norman FRANCIS) however, was not at all happy about his daughter's career choice. As a result, Molly reluctantly agreed a compromise and begin teaching drama and elocution. Becoming a local representative of Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.
​
Molly taught in Saltergate, Chesterfield and later in the nearby village of Newbold. Molly's own school operating under the trade name of Chesterfield School of Speech and Drama, which closed in around 1998.
​
Known to her pupils as "Miss Francis". Molly's teaching career spanned 58 years and Molly, taught several generations, often from the same family.
​
Molly was successful in leading over three thousand pupils to examination successes as a licentiate of the Guildhall School of Speech and Drama in London.
​
Molly became Molly COLLEDGE after marrying Frank Sydney COLLEDGE. Molly had two children, Molly's daughter Susan Colledge followed in her mother's footsteps. Ultimately Susan's son Andy Mallinson, after a varied career, also became an actor, broadcaster and occasional presenter.
​
Molly died on 10th February 2003.
