FOOD SAVING TIPS FOR REDUCING WASTE

Useful tips on #reducingwaste:
- Only buy perishable food that you know you will use. 
- Keep track of what you've bought/ used. Look in your fridge/ cupboards and vegetable rack before shopping. Take a photos of the cupboard/fridge contents if this helps. 
- Decide on what you're eating based on what' about to expire. 
- Check the use-by dates of fresh food when you buy it. 
- Don't over worry over unopened canned food Best Before dates. 
- Do rotate cans/bottles in cupboards putting new stuff at back. 
- Chop, bag & freeze vegetables you won't be able to eat. 
- Freeze spare portions when you cook. This also saves time. 
- Cook raw meat to extend the use by date by 3 days. 
- Store dried foods such as rice/pasta/crackers out of damp places, off the floor and in big tins/ bottles/ plastic containers. 
- Ensure foods in fridge are wrapped to reduce drying.
